Just a Placebo Effect?

At this point, you might be thinking... are these amazing ionized water facts actually true? Are people just succumbing to the "Placebo Effect"?

According to Wikipedia, the Placebo Effect is "a drug, surgery, or other medical procedure that gained its effectiveness due to the expectations of a person not its actual pharmacological or physiological action." In the self-help world, this basically means, "if you think it is true, then it is."

Scientists have long tried to explain away any positive results from alternative therapies and practices using the Placebo Effect excuse. But is this excuse really credible in the case of alkaline-rich, ionized water?

I recommends that you answer this question yourself by trying the following experiment:

Take three seedlings and feed them three different daily diets. Water one seedling with tap water. Water the second seedling with acid water. Water the third seedling with alkaline/ionized water.

Continue this experiment for two weeks to determine the results.
To make this experiment even more credible, consider asking a friend to bring you the waters each day in unmarked containers. By doing this, you'll take your predisposed feelings and thoughts out of the equation.

Humans might be able to "think" themselves healthier, but plants certainly can't. The result that you'll enjoy at the end of this experiment shouldn't come as a surprise to you: ionized water causes plants to grow faster, strong, and healthier.

When you consider all of the processed chemicals and manufactured drugs that we allow to pollute our body on a daily basis, it seems a bit surprising that pure, natural alkaline water should be so negatively targeted.

Still not convinced that alkaline-rich, ionized water can help you become healthier consider a study that took place in Japan. To negate the potential of the Placebo Effect, Japanese scientists used two sets of baby chickens in their experiment. One set received normal everyday tap water and the other received alkaline-rich, ionized water. Why use animals you might ask?

Well consider the research done by FD McMillan on the Placebo Effect in Animals.
"Regardless, whether or not placebo effects exist in human medicine, there is little evidence that they exist in animals. (1) In general, for a placebo response to occur, it would seen require that the patient being treated recognize that there is an intentional effort to treat. Animals would appear to lack the ability to comprehend such intentions (other than they may not like a particular intervention). As such, animals would not be able to participate in placebo-generating experiences.

So, for example, one couldn’t rationally suggest to a dog that a particular therapy might help it get better, or that it was beneficial because it was “natural;” one presumably wouldn’t wax eloquent to a horse that a particular therapy might give it a window of hope for recovery. They just wouldn’t understand."

Another remarkable effect happened to a friend who's English Bulldog is suffering with some skin disease (kagid-kagid / nuka-nuka) in the neck area - and it just won't dry out and heal. He tried using alkaline water made from his flask he bought from me, and bathed his dog with it. Surprisingly, the dogs skin disease healed rather quickly. Now, we know dogs don't experience placebo effect, right?
